So message number 2 rocked my world a little bit. Beth Moore brought the word to us from Hebrews in chapter 13:20.

The text is this:

20May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, 21equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

First of all it’s so awesome to know that God has a plan AND a will for your life. His plan fulfills His will for our life. What a comfort that He has it all figured out! And His will for your life is GOOD. Amazing.

What an awesome verse! I have always loved this verse, but never had really understood the gravity of the word “equip.” The definition given to us said equip means: to prepare, adjust, fit, readjust, supply, mend and complete. That word sure means a lot more than I gave it credit for! So we broke down the word into four parts or stages that we all go through.

1) God Equips us by PREPARING us

God uses a lot to prepare us for things, even such things as personal tragedy and difficulties. EVERYTHING we go through is in preparation for doing God’s will. It’s very comforting to remember that when I go through struggle.

2) God Equips us by ADJUSTING us

God has to adjust us into someone that is ready to do His will, because we aren’t perfect, but sinful. Adjusting is a very important part of the process.

3) God Equips us by REPAIRING us

We are broken people. We aren’t hole, and we need someone to fix us that’s bigger than the problem. The ONLY person that can do that is Jesus.

4) God Equips us by FILLING us

We HAVE to be filled with the Holy Spirit in order to do His work. So, He fills us with Him so that we can fulfill His Holy and Perfect Will.

It was so awesome to look through these stages and see how I personally cycle through these stages all the time. We have to go through this process so many times in order to get ready for the tasks we have to complete in His name.

So, question yourself…Is God preparing you for something?

Know, you will ALWAYS be equipped.
